Ok fellas here in Australia you're either done or you're not what is all this degree stuff.
I think I like it because depending on the degree might mean the difference between going in and keeping your guns.
And another thing all we see is all this movie bulshit in my country is it true what you been found guilty you end up in jail even after you serve your time you can never own a firearm ever again

Degrees differentiate between crimes. One might be simple possession of an illegal weapon. which carries one penalty, as opposed to possession of weapon during the commission of a crime which carries a stiffer penalty then use of a weapon in commission of a crime which carries an even stiffer penalty.
Someone can be charged with possession of drugs then depending on the amount, they can be charged with possession of drugs with intent to distribute. Ie: if your caught with a gram of cocaine its one penalty , if your caught with 5 pounds its another.
So there are variations on the same law understood as degrees .There are explicit criteria which must be met known as elements
Homicides are broken down in several degrees , which carry various penalties .
In the states, if your convicted of a felony, you lose your rights to own a firearm. there are some exceptions where you can get the felony expunged from your record under certain circumstances, otherwise no.
