Hard Lesson in NY is...as a CC NYer, if you do pull it, you are going to jail...regardless.
SO, my priorities are now me/mine only...any previous "situations" I would have intervened in are now gone.
Sadly, just the way the state wants it, in NY victims are on their own, whereas the criminal element is the protected class.

First off... I have no quarter given to someone brandishing as a tough guy/gal!

You pull it because you're going to use it in a life protection event, period!!!

Problematic is:

On July 10, 2023, the continued investigation and execution of a Temporary Extreme Risk Order of Protection (TERPO) search order led to the arrest of Labarbera for the additional charge of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the third degree. While searching Labarbera’s Ballston, NY home, Investigators located an illegally possessed assault weapon, which was confiscated along with all other legally owned firearms. He was arraigned at the Saratoga Springs City Court on the additional charge and remanded to the Saratoga County Correctional Facility in lieu of $1,000 cash, a $2,000 bond or a $10,000 partially secured bond.

Are all firearm offenses now automatic protection orders? I can see the association being the brandishing, but how is the victim still feeling threatened when it's a road rage incident and the offending party couldn't possibly know the other, or where they live, etc. Unless they do and then there's more to meet the eye here than just a simple road rage moron!

Bottom line, don't be some hot shot asshole pulling your firearm out to be a tough asshole. It could get you killed too... Just sayin'!

Anyways, just thoughts on the limited information...

Yeah, we don't know much about it. It's entirely possible that some guy got all pissed off and came towards him with a baseball bat/axe/knife whatever and the 23yo lifted the gun off the seat of his car, all while still sitting in the car! Who knows, we only have one side and not much of that!
