During the traffic stop, troopers recovered a loaded semi-automatic handgun, a high-capacity magazine, and several rounds of ammunition. Jerome H. Brown, age 22, from Rochester, NY, was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd (C Felony) and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd (D Felony).
Again...we're missing something. Why was he searched in a traffic stop? Was this an unlicensed pistol? Was he a prohibited person?
Sure...he should be penalized for the poor makeshift baseplate. But, that's just style points.
I would wager that the purple tie squad boys gave him the old routine:
