It sounds like you are referring to third-party doctrine. I went down a rabbit hole the other day that included this, and metadata, wifi sensing, and some other extreme privacy violation stuff.
People need to be willing to pay a premium and suffer a bit of inconvenience if they want to have any shot at privacy.

Sure, but being able to make the forum, ISP, search engine, cell provider, etc., through subpoena or coercion, hand over user info that would otherwise be hidden/private without a warrant, shouldn't happen. Honestly, in most cases it's probably happily sold or volunteered willingly.
