Stateland near Binghamton

I've been told of a few.

1. Skyline Drive
2. Upper Lisle
and a few more within a drive.

I am more interested about Skyline but I hear people aim anywhere they want and theirs always that risk of walking around and getting shot.

Also, the instructions I've been given by a few suck. Anyone has specific instructions on how to get to that one stump everyone uses to shoot or the big T???

better yet, anyone got some land or property they shoot on. I would not mind shooting along

I'm looking for somewhere to target practice. Not hunt. I missed the deadline for hunting classes this year.

What kind of distances you looking for? There's an old gravel bed in Upper Lisle that we used to shoot in years ago but I haven't been there in a while.
I can't remember if there's 50yds worth there or not, it's been a long time.

Rt 26 north past Dorchester Park, about 4 miles or so. Turn left in Upper Lisle across the steel deck bridge. The gravel bed is the second dirt road/path on the left. There's a gate at the end that you can see from the road. Kids used to take their trucks in there to rip around. I will be going by there in the next few days and I can check it out again to see if they made any changes.

I drive by there to get to where I'll be deer hunting so that'll be Saturday too, but reaaaly early. Unless I decide to set my stand up Friday. That whole area there gets hunted hard by out of towners, and the DEC. The DEC hunts the out of towners with decoys

lmao sure will What are yo planning to shoot? Might not be a bother if it's not loud like a rimefire. In the past I've seen a lot of out of state plates on some of the trucks parked in the area to hunt so I really couldn't care less. Most of those idiots are dangerous. I haven't payed any attention to who hunts there in a while because I won't hunt there without plates and a ballistic helmet lol. Good bird hunting though, that's always locals.

Got a new stock on my AR and scope. Would like to sight in plus just shoot some brass..223

If there isn't many vehicles there you should be good. But, be very careful about your AR configuration. The DEC will be all over the area.
There's always a problem with poaching in the area so they tend to over cover the area now.

I appreciate the advice. My AR is NY compliant. Ugly as a mother** but compliant lol. if it shoots im good. Like I said I want to shoot it a bit and also sight in my vortex red dot scope.. I would love to hunt but like I said, I was too late to the class and I do not have the rifle I would prefer to use.
