So my club is going to have a steel target rifle shoot in July which drives the requirement to have steel targets.
First was choosing the targets for the shoot.
AR500 Steel Gongs .500 inch Rifles to 50 BMG (Best Prices)
We are going to be shooting at distances from 100-400 yards so using the 2 MOA rule I got 3,4,6,8 ( 3 inch was the smallest they offered).
Next the stands to hold the targets
Gong Stand Brackets
These brackets will allow us to set up and tear down quickly and easily. The targets will be attached to 2"x4"x8' boards. I got eight 3/4 conduit in 10 foot lengths to cut in two. The stands are going to be a little over 4 feet at the top when set up.
Next is how to attach the targets to the boards.
Apache Inc. Conveyor Belt, PVC 120, Black, Width 20 In 20035501-20 | Zoro.com
My plan is to use fire hose or conveyer belt sections because they take abuse better than chain. I got 14, half inch grade 8 bolts and locknuts along with 120 half inch washers. I am still sourcing the straps locally but I do have an online source if I have to buy it. The plan is to attach the straps to the boards with screws.
