Stripped two pistols today for nitride coating prep

Para ordnance P12 is done. I had trouble getting that one back together. The sear spring jumped off on me then I had trouble getting the safety back out. I got that. Then I couldn’t get it back together at the field stripping point. I was like what the hell. So I tried piece by pice and the barrel wouldn’t fit in the frame. Took a look and the barrel linkage pin was out just a tiny bit. Walked that flush and it was fine. I feel stupid that it took me an hour to figure that out. In my defense I was constructing some mean chili at the same time!!

They did a nice job. They mixed up like 2-3 parts but I can’t fault them for that. It wasn’t part of the deal that they would keep them separated so I’m pleased that they came back even close. The 1911 barrel lug was with the LCP parts and one pin for each was swapped. I documented everything and took pictures so it was easy for me to identify.
I’m pleased with the work and the quick turnaround.

I did some color filling on the LCPII. I think it came out great. I did the mags, mag plates, and a few parts on the grip and frame. I did the slide serrations but it made the slide manipulation more difficult so I removed it and left just a little red in there to make it battle worn look. Looks good just not sure you’ll see it in photos. Also I had an idea that it might take the bite out of the slide serrations and had fully expected to have to take the color off that area.

I function tested these guns yesterday and they worked flawlessly. Very impressed overall.
