I remember learning how to shoot .22 rifles at Sabattis when I was 12. Rifle and shotgun merit badges were one of the few classes scouts were actually excited to attend each day. As if seeing membership and overall scouting interest decline didn't hurt enough, this just rubs salt into the wound.

No it’s no a dumb move to ban this. Think of how many kids this exposes guns to? The plan is if they never see them, never handle them, and never get to use them until they are 21 years old then for the most part they will not get hooked. This is smart on the democrats part as a way to sever the line of gun users in NYS.
What they need to do is not have that be part of the summer camp and make the shooting area a gun range and then it’s not summer camp but part of the camp. There has to be a way around this.

I really enjoyed the sailing classes on Lows lake, but the shooting and archery were def top of the list. Oh, plus the chasing bears out of camp informal classes.

Don’t get me wrong I’m surly not siding with them, but form their point of view it’s a good idea. This is why semi auto rifles and pistol is key for them to keep ownership at 21. That’s the battle we need to be winning.

how do you get the this award .. out shoot your scout master ( my dad lol ) on the 22lr range at the camp ..
i was 14 at the time .. shooting a semi .. i can't remember if dad shot with it or used a camp bolt supplied gun for score ..
but i won and still have the framed award ..

They can’t keep you from having a gun in your home. No way no how. They won’t touch this one and if they do a huge lawsuit and victory will be coming to whoever they arrested.
That all depends on what is stipulated in your lease.
I'm sure the Beer vender was shut down...

I bought My Son a pump up pellet rifle at 8 years old..bought Him a new 12 gauge at 12 and He stored it and ammo in His room. Got His carry permit at minimum age. Was taught the responsibility of gun operation. Never had a problem. My Grandson has zero interest and that's ok with Me.

its a 7 shot mag and the for grip is removed .. she is fugly now but still shoots the same with out the cosmetics ...
