I broke my safety glasses at the outdoor range. Damn things slid out of my shirt pocket and landed smack on the cement face down. So the lens has a big crack right in the center. So I was considering getting something better like the Kore Essentials Recon glasses since I am already a big kore fan. I use there gun belts and they are really awesome qualiuty you cant do any better for my money. There glasses say they're ballistic fragment & ansi rated and their site says the frames use magnets to lock the glasses to your shirt so they don't fall. I coulda used these last weekend. Anyone here had any experience with these or any other shooting glasses they could recommend? Thanks in advance.

No experience w/kore. But your lens cracked when hitting the pavement. Was that a glass lens? I would think they would not be good for eye protection when shooting. At the very least they should be tempered glass lenses.

Sun glasses or safety glasses?
I usually try to get sunglasses that are impact rated.
If I buy expensive sunglasses, I either break or loose them right away. If I buy cheap ones, they last almost forever.

One Oakley M frame sunglasses set on roof of my CJ, didn't realize it till got 5 miles away. Of course, they were not to be found anywhere. One M frame and one Zero ruined when I had the setting on the core support of my Camaro and closed the hood, at seprat times of course. Haven't bought Oakleys since.
I'm tempted to buy some vintage M frames now that I don't do as many stupid things.

My wife uses the Lowe's polycarbonate safety glasses. Sun glasses and clear; side shields.

I took a tip from the boat folks and switched to blue Costas. In bright sun they are far better than my smoke-colored or amber-colored lenses. They are polycarbonate and impact resistant, and West Marine has them on sale this week for $99. COSTA Cheeca 580P Polarized Sunglasses | West Marine

That's why I've been hesitant for the past couple years. Oakley have quality sunglasses, impact and shot resistant, just not slam hood closed resistant lol.

I have replaced my M frame lenses with Prizm lenses. I have other high contrast shooting glasses that are ballistic rated, because even though it's not common, eyes really aren't replaceable. Is worth a look, you can get pretty decent safety glasses (clear) ballistic rated for cheap, $20-30. Just sayin

True story - browsing at Oakley kiosk, at the Syracuse mall - several years ago - while waiting for my wife. - Ask the guy behind the counter, - what's the price on these, (unmarked) - he replies, - $ 500.00. My wife walks up - asks if I found anything I liked - point them out to her, saying -" well, these are nice, but probably more than I can spare." - Wife says, - "I'll get them for you for Christmas." (Wait for it) - She asks salesperson - "How much are these?" He replies - "$ 500.00. - Wife, quite surprised, to salesperson - "You're out of your fucking mind!" - I love that woman!
