For reference at the 3 minute mark Two judges sitting on the case received around 2.6 million campaign funds from the govenor .... He signed the bill to ban assault weapons

Four Boxes Diner had a vid about this. He doesn't believe the SC will actually step in to protect our Rights until after a lower court ruling. I guess this move is just for a preliminary injunction?

At the end of the video the armed scholar guy does say to temper your expectations because the SC doesn’t like to step in this early and has denied many other 2a cases recently that were similar.
I would add I don’t expect much from this case but this one is a bit different with the judges and it being handled improperly. if it wasn’t for those two judges this would have gone the other way. I don’t believe this will make the SC take this case but it might tempt them a bit more.
If I were the SC I’d say respond or we grant it just like you didn’t show up for court and by the same date. Then again if I were the SC I’d say I’m sick of this you know this isn’t right and end it right here right now and grant the plaintiffs a favorable ruling. Again I doubt it will happen. Lots going on and time will tell. We need to get these cases moving with the election coming up because this one is surely to be a toss up and the next administration could change the landscape of the SC.

SCOTUS denied the first emergency appeal OF A STATE CASE in May, and will likely deny this same emergency appeal AGAIN, as the Illinois top court said it was legal...........SCOTUS does not grant emergency appeals on State Cases very often...just Fed cases.
A new Federal case has to be filed at Scotus, and granted Certiorari........

That being said, hearing about someone in the Supreme Court telling a lower court to get a move on does not instill confidence in the court system at all. The 2nd Circuit in NY was told to make it snappy, and how long ago was that?
