As I have said previously I have had my SW442 for about a month and probably have put around 400 rounds through it. I am loving the gun. I carry it on most days. Today I shot about 25 rounds, cleaned it up and put it in my pocket holster. When the day was over I removed it from the holster and heard a ping on the floor. The screw to the cylinder latch came right off and the latch almost followed. I was sure glad this happened at home and not when I needed to use it.
At first I thought the threads were stripped but I screwed it back on with my SW bits and it seems snug with no play. It is just something I am worrying about now and it's in the back of my head.
I was thinking of putting some loctite or clear nail polish on the threads to hold it in place and make it part of routine inspection that I check to make sure the screws are snug.
Just wanted to share and see if this had happened to anyone else.
