SW22 Victory jamming

Took the victory out to the range yesterday. Almost every shot either jammed or stovepiped. Took the gun home and cleaned it again and changed ammo to high velocity instead of standard velocity. Went back to the range today and put about a hundred rounds through it. Still have the same problem but it only happens about every 3rd shot. Best I could get was 5 in a row without a problem. Any ideas or suggestions on what I should do next?

Had the same problem... the area where the bolt goes into is rolled steel. and is too tight around the bolt and dragging on it, causing all your issues. Things I did to cure it.
1) I lightly pollished the interior boby of the frame where the bolt goes into, inserted into the bolt area of the frame I used some tongue depressors and wrapped 400 grit and worked upto 1000 grit.
2) I found a flat counter top, and pollished the four sides of the bolt, I started with 400 grit and worked my way upto 1500 grit. I kept checking with the 400 grit till I got it to slide realy nice then worked upto the 1500 grit.

Runs every 22lr decent ammo Std and HV rounds and is smooth as butter...

P.S. Disasemble your mags and file the sharp edges at the feed lips that drag on the 22lr shell case..

I had the same issue with a new Ruger Mark IV for the first 1000 rounds. Works fine now, multiple .22 ammo choices running fine.

Went to my range last week, man had a new S&W Victory and was having some malfunctions. He was using golden thunderbolts. I gave him some CCI minimags that I had in my range bag and no more malfunctions. The Victory ran smoothly

I would think it is ammo related and possibly break in period, although I have had no issues with my Ruger 22/45, even when running CCI subsonic rounds.

I would let it break in before removing metal. You can always polish later.

I think there are some YouTube videos if I recall where an ejector adjustment was necessary. Not sure if related to your issue.

Well it is fixed. Ran 4 mags through it without one jam. Adjusted the ejector a bit and all is good now.

Me too. It was really starting to piss me off. Seems to be all good now. Thanks to everyone’s suggestion.

How exactly did you adjust the extractor?

There is video that shows how to do it. It is the piece that guides the empty out the side. I guess it is called the ejector. My mistake. Just go on YouTube and lookup sw22 jamming. I corrected the name .
