Pics a couple of posts down. The pics show more "wear" than I thought was there - damn digital crap. Always messing with one's preceived reality. Still, no rust, no corrosion - mostly "safe queen" wear.
The Swiss Products K31 Clamp-On scope mount (SCHMIDT-RUBIN K31 SCOPE MOUNT | Brownells) is extremely robust and doesn't require any modification of the rifle. It is essentially bomb-proof and simple to install with a hex wrench.
It DOES, however, interfere with using K31 stripper clips, IIRC.
Uses .22 rimfire clamp on dovetail rings. Included, and already properly mounted (front ring to the extreme front of mount against block), should allow most scopes to be mounted by moving the rear ring.
The rings mounted are Brownells/Warne steel rings (7.3 RINGS | Brownells) which have 4 screws on each ring top half and 2 screws on the dovetail. These are for a 1" scope tube.
My K31 has seen better days as far as accuracy goes and the scope is being moved. The whole unit shows only a couple of small cosmetic scratches and there is blue Loc-Tite on all threads.
