It just came to me, while I write this... but I slipped down a pair of icy stairs recently entering a storefront. Thankfully I didn't get hurt, but what if I was CCWing and I broke my leg where I need to go to the hospital? Good bye pistol permit, just like that.

By that logic, what if you AREN'T carrying and that's the day there's a violent robbery where someone you love gets injured or worse?
I was in Syracuse (briefly) yesterday, I don't look at window signs, I look at people by the entrance and so on.

All I can say is by my dumb luck, I'd be carrying, and the only thing attacking me is a flight of stairs causing me to eat some pavement. While I watch my permit go bye bye and need a long stay in the hospital.

No biggie, twice now I've been loaded into an ambulance while armed, just tell the crew on the way and a nice policeman will meet you and give you a receipt or allow you spouse to take it.
How do you figure that you lose your Rightfully owned property?
Maybe you meant to say that you'd slip and hit your head and when you awoke your weapon was missing/stolen? Because I don't give a shit, I'll hold onto my property unless you're going to knock me out... Do they take your wallet too? Etc... If you are conscious and asked to change, ask for a BAG to put your clothes and personal belongings in, at that time you give your bag to a "Loved" one to take home and secure. Nobody needs to know shit, you don't owe them that info. Emergencies aside...

I agree. I try to avoid congested places, but if I have to go to a place like Walmart, the gun comes with. I have weighed the consequences of potentially getting caught vs. the chance for some freak to pop off and came to conclusion the latter is much more likely to happen.
