Syracuse student claimed to have ‘skills of a school shooter’ in Snapchat video
NEW YORK — Syracuse Police have made an arrest in a Snapchat threat incident.
On Monday February 26th, 2018 at 9:42 AM, Syracuse Police Officers responded to the Syracuse Academy of Science School, 1001 Park Avenue, in regards to a suspicious incident.
Upon arrival, school staff advised Officers that a student had posted a video on a social media outlet that had students and parents concerned. In the video, it reportedly showed the student at home using a BB gun to shoot at a can and making a comment about “school shooting skills”. There was no specific school mentioned.
AOfficers arrested Jacob V. Vazquez, 16 years old, for Making a Terroristic Threat. Vazquez was later lodged into the Onondaga County Justice Center. The BB gun used in this incident was recovered.
