Tac Vest or Battle Belt ??

Does anyone have experience with either a Tac Vest or Battle Belt?

How would you carry extra mags and such? cram them in a pocket?

Or is this stuff to "Mall Ninja-y"?

Following as I've been looking into battle belts lately but haven't made a decision.

Depends on what you want to use it for. I have a hsgi battle belt that i really like for running my drills. Whats your intended purpose?

It depends how much you plan on carrying. A belt can only hold so much.

The military started going with vests over the belt/suspenders because you can carry more and distribute the weight over a larger portion of the body.

I've read a few forums and viewed some Youtube on the topic and am thinking of one of the Condor sets for $50 complete.
Add a couple of open top mag pouches for rifle & pistol , holster, canteen, IFAK, ....

I just don't know how usefull it would be.
And yes, the Condor stuff is not "Operator" quality gear (nor am I ) but is said to be well made.

Man, I gotta get out of the 'burbs and into the sticks .
The neighbors will think I'm really nuts if I start running aound the yard doing drills.

I was going to get on of these and leave it loaded up less the firearm incase i need to hustle out of the house in a hurry,but I think its too over the top , I may just get a cheap shoulder holster with a mag pouch and clip a flash light to it

I've run one of these for quite a while (Camelbac Delta 5). Set it up with mags on left and right, oriented for ambi use. Pistol mags and rifle. Pistol on top of AR mag pouches (Tactical Tailor). Med kit and dump bag in back plus small pouch in center of back as a "mini" ruck. Knife on left, near zipper, inverted. The weird-looking round "tubes" on each side of the shoulder openings aid in weapon mounting, retention and give a more solid feel. Has fully adjustable side straps for giving it a snug fit whether you're a larger person, or wearing armor.

And it has a liquid supply which can be used, or entirely removed. Heavy as hell with full load out for me, .

Love all the MOLLE (use Malice clips), so when I "went SKS" I changed the ammo pouches out.
