DONE Taken ---- Got a cherry burl to give away in Wayne county

Had a small (8") cherry tree come down that I have been cutting up for firewood. It has a burl that is about 15" in diameter.

Rather than burn it I would prefer to give it to someone who could do something with it. I have seen some amazing wood crafts made out of burls.

If you want it shoot me a PM and we will make arrangements for you to pick it up. I have a couple photos I can text to anyone that is interested.

Wayne county is the next one to the east of Monroe. As for picking it up, I'm retired so we can work around your schedule. Shoot me a PM with a phone number and what part of Rochester you're in and I'll get back to you with my number and directions and we can work it out from there.

Cherry Burl is very unique . You just don’t see it around much. I’ll bet it would make some Very nice knife handles. Hopefully we’ll get to see what it gets made into.

i do have to confess .. i did cut down a cheery tree when i was a teen .,. fire wood ,, .. dad shows up .. you know it has poison ivy growing on it .. yep .. go get me new cloths .. im gunna ditch these and go for a swim .. ( Canaseraga Creek ) .. never got the poison ivy from cutting it down .. but got it from the wood stove in winter time .. jan 1 80 i was in the ER .. from it .. you cant get it in winter .. LOL .. fkin Docs lol

Cherry is one of a couple native woods that make decent pipes......the other is Mountain Laurel if you find any of that.

You could get maybe 1 out of it. 8 inches is good in most instances but not alot to work with when it comes to trees.
