The granulated is like sandpaper - literally. I have it on my Shield. Buddy bought it for me, got the wrong kind. Didn't care, threw it on anyways, sanded it way down. Gives a very reassuring grip in your hand. That being said, I have to wear an undershirt when I carry, unless I want my skin sanded down.

Oh, and it was super easy to apply, but I like taking my time w/ things and stretched it to the right spots. Other friends have commented that they want me to do theirs because it looks nice. I can see the seam where I applied it, but nobody else notices. You use a hair dryer to help apply.

I've got Talon rubber-type on Glock 43 and 42. I like it. It was simple to apply and it gives a very positive grip.

I have their granulated version for my G43 and it's a great addition. It's a lot like sandpaper but not as extreme I can't speak for the rubber version. It was very easy to install, clean grip with rubbing alcohol and dry, put on grip and trim excess and use a hair dryer or heat gun to really form it to the grip. It's well worth the price for smaller pistols.

That is correct. Sanded it down from how it originally comes, and it gives a confident feeling in your hand that it'll never slip.
I also own a razor too, but if you've seen pictures of me, you'll know it's not really mine. I'm married, I borrowed the wife's hairdryer. Amazing that I don't have a heat gun, with the car stuff I do sometimes, they're great for shrink tubing and bumper repair.
