Shutting down roads and bridges is not a good tactic. It is bad for the left to do it, it is bad for the right to do it. All is accomplishes is pissing people off and turning otherwise sympathetic citizens against you. I’m sure it feels good top think that you’ve got power by doing such things, but it is self-destructive in the end. This stunt on the Zee won’t win Trump one single vote.

My understanding from videos, reports, and postings is that the Trumpers did not block off bridge traffic and left at least one lane clear, however the NYSP did fully blockade and shutdown traffic.

I agree blocking traffic bad, but the big difference is they left a lane open for traffic to flow and didn't threaten anyone who wanted to pass with violence.
