Similar thing happened in the Amherst/Clarence area a while back. When I lived in Denver, some drunk kid was trying to get into what he thought was his cookie cutter house in the middle of the night. Unfortunately for him, he was off by about 5 houses. The homeowner shot and killed him through the door. As soon as it happened, the cops, news, and community all praised the homeowner for defending his castle, even though there wasn't much of an actual threat. Zero public scorn, the kid wasn't a poor innocent victim, none of that shit you hear everywhere else.
Castle Doctrine is a Natural Law to me. The states opinion only comes into play after the fact.
And the invaders would sue his estate for the cuts received when breaking the glass to get in.In Hochul's vision of NY the homeowner would be dead.
