Deplorable Me
.700 Nitro Express
Any Taurus .357 or .44 magnum owners? I'm thinking about one for the range. Do they take a pounding and are they durable?
I had one of those 40 cal clones PT101 I think was the model number. It shot ok but after I had all the trouble with the revolvers I got rid of it too.I had a 444. It is a small 5 shot .44 magnum, ported 4 inch barrel. t was heavy and had enormous grips, kind of a baffled rubber. The trigger pull was very difficult until it wasn't, suddenly. I could never get the hang of it. It was tough to shoot accurately. At the end of the trigger pull the first pad of my index finger was always pinched between trigger and trigger guard. I put it towards a trade of something.
I still have 2 rimfires, both with 5 inch barrels, .22 LR and a .17 HMR, both are 8 round cylinders if I recall correctly, again both triggers are terrible, but they are pretty accurate in single action out to 25 yards. I bought them as part of plan that every family member would have a rimfire pistol they could survival hunt small game, a "j" frame .38, and a large semi-auto pistol.
I have had difficulty finding holsters and replacement grips for each of my Taurus'.
If I had ever seen the .40 S&W clone of the Beretta 92 , (I think it's a 100 or 101) I would have grabbed it. But nowadays I'm not really in the market for any new semi-autos. The ex has her stuff, my children have theirs, and I have mine.
A good friend loves his small 9mm Taurus.
I have the same (or similar) 856, as well as a TX22 compact. No complaints.I have multiple Taurus’s. Both my TX22’s have functioned without fail. 100%. My G2C in 9mm, same thing. Only that gun and my VP9, one Glock 48 and CZ TSO have run without fail. I have a Taurus 856 2” 38+p that runs and shoots great. Taurus isn’t the crap of yesteryear, but they’re also not Smith & Wesson, although I have a few smiths that I’d swear were used when I bought them based on the finish. You won’t be disappointed with a Taurus revolver
