Taylor and Vadney sporting goods

Hey all,

I was in Albany playing around today. I've visited a couple a gun shops just for fun. I stopped in to Taylor and Vadney.

They had no guns for sale. The shelves were bare. The kid told me that they had ATF issues. What do you guys know? What are they do? Give me the gossip.

I asked about buying a couple of plastic slip on hand guards M4 style. Are usually ask because a lot of times there's great deals on them because the stores take them off. He told me $30 for the set. I couldn't believe it

I've not heard any good things about that place, customer service wise.

Somehow I think they are going to have a hard time paying the bills selling guns there now that they have two competing stores within just a few minutes of T&V in Rotterdam. The new(ish) store down the hill on Campbell Ave is a good looking place and the new place on Central Ave by Mohawk Commons is airing ads on the radio so they must have some type of money (I have not been into that store yet, but I am going to have to go just for the radio ads "Wer'e not Dicks").

I spent the day in the Capital region with my son on Saturday and we visited 10 gun stores.
I was impressed with some of them.
American Shooter Supply, B&D Gunsmoke, Target Sports and Zach's Sports are my favorites.
When we reached Taylor and Vadney Sporting Goods I was shocked to find no firearms after seeing pictures of the store on line.
We didn't ask what happened but he mentioned he had license problems.
My brother is an FFL and owns a store in Roscoe, NY "Big Dog Arms" and the ATF is always busting his chops.
They are very picky, I can't believe some of the things they question him on.

When Taylor & Vadney was on Central Ave. in Albany, years back, it was a great store. George and Mary Ellen were shooters, loved what they did and the shop reflected that. Spent a lot of money there.
