They wire air soft guns, not pellet guns, there is a difference. Inflammatory asshole journalist. I've been welted a few times. It does sting. Train hard because when shit happens you need to be motivated. Had the teacher been armed they could have shot the other guy in the balls. Snowflakes are doomed to extinction at their own fault.

I tried shooting through regular card-stock targets with an airsoft pistol. I couldn't imagine how I was missing repeatedly. I figured out that the airsoft pellets were bouncing off of the target. I had to change to plain paper targets in order to get shots to penetrate.

I have talked with the Deputies I work with and we've together tried to get active shooter training at work. Management won't allow it because the other employees are 10-ply.

Eff 'em. My last day is Thursday. They won't take the threats seriously, so I don't want to be a part of it. Not for minimum wage.

I like the idea of a little pain as a teaching / motivating tool. I bet anyone who complained about this will be done if the real thing happens.

Without seeing the syllabus, I'm guessing they were trying to drive home the point that if you don't fight back, you and your students will die.

Its a hard concept to grasp if you've been taught and have spent your entire career teaching that violence is bad and you shouldn't stand up to aggressors.

My office asked who would attend their active shooter training. I told them that if they'd let me carry concealed in the office, I'd consider attending. Otherwise, I felt that training to be outgunned when better options are available was silly.

They don't expect you to fight. They're hoping you'll be able to 'hug it out' or reason with an attacker.

Figure out what you have to work with and make a plan, even if its jumping out of a window and running away.

You haven't been shooting the good airsoft guns then lol. I know a bunch of guys who train with good quality ones and have seen the welts. One guy got a tooth shot out lmao. The plastic bb made it past the facemask.

A decent CO2 air-soft gun runs at about 300 FPS execution style means close, to close, it can easily tear you open, airsoft BBs can fragment when they hit something hard and will shred you up. Shoot someone that close and be prepared to catch a first. The Sheriffs action sounds a bit sadistic. I Didn't pull this photo off the web its my buddies head, needless to say getting hit that close will make you see red. They can easily knock a chicklet out of your face if you don't wear a mask.

I've shot myself point blank in my calf with and airsoft it left a welt through jeans it may break bare skin, especially soft liberal skin. Didn't hurt that much.
