Maybe "stupid like a fox"! He probably had no intentions of shooting up the school, but thought it would make him "cool" if people thought he was going to. Hopefully they toss his ass away for a Federal "vacation", AND make it public knowledge that he has been incarcerated. Maybe the next dumb shit that thinks this is cool, will think better of it.

The NYSP and others have been issuing the names of minors for felony charges but I noticed only a few (like Mid Hudson News) have been publishing names of minors. The Journal News, Poughkeepsie Journal, NYT, Newsday, etc have been silent while several smaller online sources pass on the info.

whats the age to own a rifle ??? last i knew it was a age to buy them .. how i got mine at 14 or was i 12 .. dad gave them to me.. i own them now .. .. lazy guns too .. they still won't load and clean them self's without my help ...

Possession is twelve in NYS. You're right, could very well be that he "owns" those. I think it more likely that the cops just seized every gun in the home, regardless of purported ownership.
I was given a 20ga shotgun as a Christmas present at age 13 or 14. However, it was understood that if I did something stupid with it, it would disappear. Did I have a valid legal claim of theft when it got traded away for a 12ga a few years later? Probably. But as a practical matter, it would have been extremely difficult to follow through as a minor.
