That is something else I have said, NYS may be worse than the IRS. It is not a case of innocent until proven guilty, it is GUILTY, PROVE you are not. I have had way too many conversations with CPA's thru the years to not believe that way.
If you read that law that is coming in Dec. you will find that FFL's are going to be required to basically act for the state to help them with their "database". Makes my blood boil. I keep hoping that ONE the current lawsuits sticks and is rules quickly and appropriately so the focus can go to the other issues. The whole bunch of crap passed in June, Safe Act, etc. I think there are more suits coming but some dominoes need to fall.
We are so focused on the most ergregious (sp?) laws we forget about thing like the Red Flag and that one will bite many. I have heard some tales already and it isn't pretty.

Not true. Desert eagles have not been banned. My boss and a friend both have desert eagles. They have the Light weight L5 models that come in at roughly 49 ounces.

The great thing we have is that New York is divided among multiple federal court districts . We aren’t dependent on one judge to decide at the district level if CCIA is constitutional or not. All it takes is one of these judges at one of the 4 districts to put on the TRO and it effects the whole state— yes, we had this debate under the first SAFE act —-.
The TRO on carrying in churches effects the whole state. Now, if we can get the same judge to look at the rest of CCIA, we might get good results .

The same judge is overseeing another case that goes after a bunch of the CCIA as he is presiding over boron vs Bruen.
I wonder why there has not been a lawsuit against this from anybody who has been a victim of domestic violence and has gotten their carry permit because of this. If you were a victim of domestic violence due to an abusive ex and had gotten your conceal carry permit because of them, you previously could carry almost anywhere. Now that same person if they go out in public are defenseless.

I was thinking more in regards to standing of a plaintiff. With already being a victim of domestic violence it shows you are risk for the reoccurrence of such violence, plus I would imagine such a victim would want to carry everywhere.

Because it is too expensive to challenge as a financially normal person and the 2A organizations underwriting these suits have passed and refused on working with defendants, who concealed carry after being victimized with open death threats, and are severely impacted by NYS's petulant CCIA.

Sorry if this should go in the other thread on the TRO but I thought this was important to show the folks on this thread the dumbfuckery by the Attorney Genrals office in NYS and the proper way a judge should respond. I like this guy. He ruled fast and told the AG’s office to fuck off in a nice way. It’s also indicated he will find anything challenged in his court unconstitutional. James also tried to get him removed from hearing the case.

I can sum it up for you. We lost to prevent it from taking effect, we won a TRO, NYS a and the 2nd circuit fucked us, and now we’re in limbo. A Trump judge tossed us a bone and slapped the AG’s office for us in the process indicating he will hand us everything since NYS majorly overstepped.56 pages? Does anyone have a video that sums it up?

Thank God for Rev. Hardaway and Rev. Boyd. Two black men of God who benefit their mission, themselves, their family, their church family, their community and all the law abiding citizens of our state through their courage and commitment even to go to court against the State machine. They insist upon the free exercise of the right to self defense, a right which comes from God and not the State. To use it to protect themselves and others as the good shepherd guards the sheep from threats of evil, terror, mayhem and death. Thank God for President Trump's many judicial appointments to the Federal Courts and the impact they are having in upholding the Constitution. Thank God for Judge Sinatra's steadfast stance against the State in their effort to remove him from this and related cases, his clear understanding of Bruen and his quick and thorough actions to protect our rights. Their efforts have benefitted us all. The CCIA is clearly built upon a foundation of sinking sand and the 2A is steadfastly built on a firm foundation on the rock. Many prayers are being answered through the NYSRPA v Bruen case and it is a truly exciting ride as NYS AG, Governor and Legislature are getting spanked in the courts. The fervent and continuing prayer now is that favorable decisions continue to come quickly as the burden of living in a state under the oppressive and unconstitutional infringement of our rights by our government weighs heavily on us all each and every day.

When comparing this quick and difinive ruling by Judge Sinatra to the case before Judge Suddaby, consider that Judge Sinatra was ruling on case that was extremely limited in scope in comparison. The 'carry in church' elements of the Antonyuk et al (Suddaby) case took up one page of the 65 page rebuttal that was just filed by plaintiffs.
IMO it would have been more prudent for the Pro 2A community to bring a series of lawsuits, each one challenging one or two elements, than to bring one huge case (Antonyuk) all at once.
