Unfortunately, Congress will never let this happen. However, if the People vote on it I think it would be a no brainer. Democrats would be happy to see Republicans go, Republicans would be happy to see Democrats go.

the ONLY reason to stay in this type of occupation is power, period.
you want to end life long politicians? I can do that tomorrow. END THEIR LIFE LONG BENEFIT PACKAGE. If, after they get out of office they have nothing, like the rest of us, they would be out-of-office in one term. No more free healthcare, no more full pay for life, nothing.
and make it retroactive to ALL PAST and present congress critters. End the billions of dollars it cost tax payers every year to support this bullshit

People have the right to choose who they want. No law is going to change what we have become. Education and attitude, not laws, get things done. The fact that being a politician has become a business is more a symptom of our decline and the dumbing down of society in general than the cause, though it does accelerate things considerably.

If you think the deep state or federal bureaucracy is too powerful now, just wait until term limits are passed. With a constant revolving door of politicians we will essentially be governed by career bureaucrats, or more so than we are now. I don't like the situation we have now any more than the next person. But every politician can currently be voted out of office if the people desire.

If you do term limits you have to get rid of the pension and life long health care. I don’t see any of this happening because then you would only have people who want to do the right thing.

Umm.....you should really double check health care benefits for congress. Not saying they are not generous benefits looking at the country as a whole, but far from free and not lifetime. The benefits are probably on par with most federal/state or large union employees.
Evident of the ultimate corruption is the expenditure of millions to get elected as a public service employee with a compensation that amounts to a fraction of what was spent to get the job!...

Career bureaucrats are what we have now and many can not be voted out of office when they have control of major cities. FUAC for instance. If they were limited to let's say 2 terms, they could be just as easily voted out as they are now. Except career scumbags like FUAC would only keep control for his term limit. I dont see how this could hurt.

My uncle used to always say that term limits do with a sledge hammer what should be done with a ball-peen hammer. I agree with you completely. While I'm not entirely against term limits myself the fact that we have career politicians who work for their own good and the benefit of the deep state is, as you said, a symptom rather than the disease.
Event with term limits the brainwashed mob will continue to vote in leftist/globalist/anti-freedom politicians to fill their spots. The fact that the left has control over most of our institutions, not the least of which are public education, the entertainment industry and the mainstream media, means that we will continue to have brainwashed fools voting in more of same, term limits or no term limits. Politics is downstream from culture, and I'm more convinced than ever that our culture has been corrupted. Term limits won't save us from that.
