Seems like it would be weak down the middle where the zipper is. Sure, odds of a dead-center shot might be low, but if you are going to wear body armor, why have a weak spot?

Watching it again, there may be a hole in the jacket after the "shot." Lighting appears to be intentionally obscuring viewing of the impact site.

They have posted a brighter version with a good slow-motion clip. It does indeed look like the jacket covering was penetrated.

I knew a guy in the early to mid 80s who did that with a Second Chance vest. He ran an LGS and tactical place before tactical "Tacticool". Can't recall his first name, but last was Idema and I think the place was called Adventure World or some such. It was on Rt 9 in Hyde Park. He was a SOF kinda guy from the 70s-80s era if I remember correctly.
