Texas Sheriff's Blunt Response To Parkland Shooting: 'We Do Not Take Cover In A Parking Lot'
On Tuesday, a North Texas man proudly posted a letter from his local sheriff to his deputies containing instructions that were, in every way, the opposite of what transpired in Parkland, Florida. Denton County Sheriff Tracy Murphree bluntly told his deputies, “We do not take cover in a parking lot.” His full statement read:

With the recent tragedy in Florida, I wanted to make clear my policy on responding to an active shooter. All commissioned Deputies, if you respond to an active shooter you are expected to take immediate action. We do not stage and wait for SWAT, we do not take cover in a parking lot, and we do not wait for another agency. We go in and do our duty. We go in to engage and stop the shooter and save lives. If for any reason you feel you cannot follow this directive please inform your supervisor and we will work to get you reassigned

That’s the part I can’t understand. I keep seeing and hearing how they were ordered to wait or it was sop to wait or they thought this or thought that. Just excuses and backpedaling. And the antis seem to like making excuses for the Broward cowards. So their argument becomes give up your guns because the police will protect you except when they won’t.

In that situation how was doing nothing in the parking lot an appropriate course of action regardless of orders or sop or thinking the shooting was outside? What the fuck was sitting there doing? If you’re not part of the solution you’re part of the problem. Why even respond to the school?

Most of the cops that I know, even if a stand down order was given, or an order to hold place was given, they would have ignored that order.
