I feel like NY doesn't publish as many gun crimes as they actually have. As if they were purposely hiding them.

I am sure that is true. Unless there is an arrest, death, or hospitalization it is probably not considered "newsworthy". That is the exact line I was fed after a thwarted armed home invasion attempt. Local papers are not a good source for judging crime statistics. Maybe they just want to keep property values up to support the tax base.

In regards to the SAFE Act working or not working...
I see EVERYDAY that the Act is NOT working. The crims that unlawfully carry guns could not care any less than they do.
Many of us agree, even with no guns at all, people would be murdered. Evil will always find a way to kill.
Take for example, the mass killing in Vegas, if this man had no guns, he could have just crashed his plane into the crowd of concert goers.
You cannot stop evil!

The SAFE act is working. It never had anything to do with crime, gun violence or anything of that nature.
