...this is a knife. Nothing to do this evening, so I took a pic of some military kukris. Got interested in them through collecting Lee-Enfield rifles and reading about the Gurkhas in the British and Indian armies.

Nice, why do they all have a notch near the handle?
I know a bit about these and have a few myself.
Weird thing about the notch, nobody knows for sure anymore. It's traditional, but ideas range from practical purposes to a variety of religious and/or cultural symbolism.

My money is on bottle opener.
That is a nice collection. My "That's not a knife" episode was when I opened the delivery box containing a couple of Cold Steel folders I bought. The Vaquero was listed as "extra large", and well, it was. Pencil for reference... The other one I carry every day since it actually fits in my pocket.
