You're not wrong there. Just pointing out that the dems want to do something about it, and the repubs think it's just fine in this particular case. Also, for once in a blue moon the democrats main solution isn't a "free shit" giveaway... it's just preventing giant corporations from using their size to buy everything and turn everyone into permanent renters, forces them to not own them and nothing else.
I agree there is extra garbage. Particularly on the second bill. The first bill (preventing hedge funds from buying single family homes) is pretty clear of pork. The second one as you mentioned is BS taxes and full of pork.

Before the investment banks money and the private citizens money were seperate . the banks couldnt touch it The goverment picked up the tab to bail the bankers out. But the laws have been restructured to allow the banks to take or use all assets in thier possession. Ie: Your bank account. They call it a bail in .

So, they'll spin up some companies that aren't hedge funds that are specific "real estate management corporations" and then sell to them.
