From another thread....
How many calories do you need to survive? For a month? For a year?
A pound of rice, on average has 685 calories. A pound of beans on average has 580 calories. Flour has about 1650 calories per pound.
So if you have a pound of each, you have 2915 calories. Let's say you have double the flour and then you have 4565 calories.
Let's say you're more prepared and you have 10x that, then you have 45,650 calories.
Add in 50 cans of veggies. Let's go calorie heavy, say beets with 140 calories per can. Now you have 52,650 calories.
What's the least you can get by on?
Let's guess the bare minimum is 1000 calories per day per person. I'm not sure but guessing you're not going to thrive on that amount. That gives you 52.7 person says worth of calories.
If you have a family of 4, you have 13 days worth of food assuming 1000 calories per day per person; which I'm guessing is way sub-optimal. Add in extra manual labor and you're fucked.
Am I right?
