The dreaded Marlin Jam

does anyone know how to fix the Marlin ( RemLin ) Jam. My 45-70 has developed this little problem and I'm not sure how to fix it.

Hell, maybe I fucked it up when I put the flyweight gate in?

It usually loads the first round with no issue, but round #2 will not load, and it jams like it can't pull the cartridge all the way back far enough to get it to left into the breach?

I love my 45-70, and I want this fixed. maybe I should run it over to a gunsmith??? IDK

I run into this with my 1894 twins (.357 and .44). Go over the action and make sure all the screws are snugged. Check the screw on the bottom of the tube magazine at the receiver, that's the one I forget most often. When I get home from the range I try to make it a habit of snugging down all the screws as part of my post range ritual. Bullet shape also factors in. With SWC (reloads) the sharp shoulder seems to cause hang ups. I switched to LRN-FP and the problem magically goes away. JHP and JSP are not problematic unless I forget to snug down the action screws.

I fixed quite a few Remlins. The most common issue is where they machine the hole in the receiver for the mag tube. When the round is fed from the tube, it catches on the sharp edges of the machining of the receiver catching the brass. Take it apart and smooth out the hole.
