Haven't see this one previously but have seen/herd other stories about Hunters encountering them and quickly deciding there wasn't any way they were going to shoot with what they were carrying....Suddenly .50BMG seems under gunned.
Justin Smeja killed 2 bigfoots with a 25-06 while bear hunting. Guy stands by this and a LOT of people believe him. He passed 2 polygraph tests......apparently.
The first thing that has me disbelieving him is, as an experienced hunter, he would know a 25-06 is a poor choice for bears. He says he has killed many bears with this caliber.
Of course this caliber CAN kill a bear, but an experienced and ethical hunter would not choose a 25-06 for black bear.
For what it's worth, poachers in Africa kill gorilla's with 7.62x39 from an 18 inch AK rifle.
I wouldn't feel comfortable with anything under 300WM for a bigfoot.

Well my .300 savage M99 lever action has taken 3 black bears. One dressing out at 293lbs. lol All 50 yards or under. Many bears, elk, moose have fallen victim to that now venerable caliber. Love stories like this. Very entertaining.
But after many years hunting coyotes in the deep woods in the dead of night miles from my truck, most times it just the noise in my head and hear after turning off the caller.
But if a bigfoot were to appear, I would have the advantage of NV and thermal. Bring it big boy!

Yeah, I follow that sort of stuff a lot.
I've been interested in the Bigfoot phenomenon since I was a little boy.
That interest has never gone away.
Over all the years, I have read a ton of books and watched countless hours of Bigfoot-related stuff. I even have a cheap Bigfoot costume and used to have some fun with it. I've posted about it here before.
The wife told me, "You're going to get yourself shot someday wearing that stupid thing." lol

I watched the Gimlin-Patterson Film in the Ritz Theater circa 1968 and have been hooked ever since...
We held a Hunting Lease bordering the St. John's River and Wekiva River outside Sanford Florida back in the 70's~80's and saw some strange thing(s) that we couldn't say were Bears...but couldn't say they weren't.
Late Uncle lived deep into the "Green Swamp" area in Central Florida: He was a Woodsman, and as damn serious as a heart attack, so if he said something, it was Gospel: He said there were "Skunk Apes" in the area, and that he had seen them...He kept Horses/Mules, Raised Australian Shepherds.
Somewhere along the way, I read where there are multiple species of Sasquatch; most are peaceable, but there's at least one that's savage and will devour those they catch....can't think of their names.
Kilimanjaro Bell was said to take African Elephants with a 6.5MS which is about the same power wise as 6.5Creedmore.... 303 British was another, and it's on par with 7.62x54R and even less than .308 Winchester...Shot placement is everything...that said, the last thing I'd want to do is shoot one...I expect it's hard to walk with a barrel stuck up your ass.

I grew up (1970's early 80s) bordering a deep, dark swamp in South Carolina. My father and grandfather would sometimes talk about the Swamp Monster sightings and or vocalizations. (like Skunk Apes)
I've heard strange sounds coming out of that swamp...

IIRC, it was also the Gimlin-Patterson Film that started my life long interest.
Then, in the late 1970's the TV show "In Search of" would have some Bigfoot episodes, and that peaked my interest even more. And it's been game on ever since.

I have a friend that one time bitched at me and told me to stop talking about Bigfoot stuff during deer season. You see, the night before, we were hanging out, and I was once again talking about Bigfoot and also had him play some Bigfoot vocalizations from YouTube.
The next morning, he was walking through the dark woods going to his stand. He thought about our conversation and the YouTube Bigfoot vocalizations we had listened to. And he said for the first time ever he was a little freaked out walking in the dark woods. lol
The thing is, he doesn't believe that Bigfoot exists; in fact, he's certain of it. So I brought that up to him, and he said it didn't matter. From now on, there's no more talking about Bigfoot during deer season. Doh!
That sort of thing doesn't happen to me in the dark woods or fields. The thought of encountering a Bigfoot in the dark woods would be awesome. IMHO. YMMV.

I have a really good friend DEC Cop that moved there for his last few years on the Job: Never could get him to say a word about the subject either way, and love/respect him as I do, I would never press the issue...you play around in the woods long enough and you're experience things.
As for denial: People's minds that just can't handle the premise or prospect of the unexplained will flatly deny it even when directly effected...something of a defense mechanism.

It might be easier to buy if not for the fact that all these years all there have been were mythical sightings and bullshit stories like "Justin Smeja killed 2 bigfoots with a 25-06 while bear hunting. Guy stands by this and a LOT of people believe him". Every now and then there is a report that a "big discovery" of some sort coming soon. And it turns out to be like a gov "hopefully tomorrow" event. Not a single scrap of real evidence....ever in all these years. Not even a single bone, never mind a cadaver. I find it highly unlikely that they exist.

As the story goes, due to snow fall, he couldn't go back for weeks.
For every question, he has a BS answer.
But for some reason, many "respected" researchers believe his story.
I don't know if bigfoot exists, but if this dope killed two of them, he would have not left the area without proof. He is an alcoholic bullshitter who charges money for interviews to this day.

So, the bigfoots layed covered with snow for weeks. Did they melt with the snow? Even if they were eaten by coyotes and such, there would be skeletal remains. Couple of bigfoot bones gotta be worth millions. Only bigfoot I believe in is the one we have here. I figure since he's been around since before AI he must be real.
