This incident started when they fired upon agents attempting to serve a search warrant on the compound. They killed 4 agents that day.

My opinion won’t be popular but I don’t care: fuck ‘em. I hope they are all rotting in hell. The deaths of the children involved are on them.

The ATF were the criminals on that one, the davidians were just defending themselves.

Their fate was sealed the minute some bureaucrat decided to make a spectacle out of the arrest for political purposes.

You could say that they would have lived if they had just surrendered, but you can just as easily say the agents would have lived if they hadn't chosen to invade these people's home for no reason.

I lay blame for the whole debacle at the feet of the ATF, they are the ones who initiated everything. If they had just sat on their asses, or even affected a normal arrest none of it would have happened.

Is there even any evidence that they couldn't have just walked up to the front door, knocked politely and asked to come in ?

They were doomsday cultists, and the ATF was determined to make it happen.

Although FBI claimed she was shot accidentally, FBI's own memos profiled Vicky Weaver as the leader of the family. They knew if she was dead, the family would give up.

And their official rules of engagement were basically "shoot anything that moves" and that was the guy who shot he's defense.

So, which was it, an accident, or following orders ?

They had no intention of a peaceful search. It was all an exercise in forcing people to submit to their will.

I have zero trust in the accusations leveled against the cultists. Sorry, but the ATF and FBI of that era has no credibility. None of the kid stuff was ever going to see the inside of a court room.

The ATF *wanted* a major incident for publicity and just bit off more than they could chew.

*At best* the ATF/FBI are guilty of gross incompetence in the incident. Certainly some of them are criminally responsible for what happened.
