The FUDD Mindset...

I've "discussed" ad nauseum with a number of persons on this forum my belief that FUDDS are as dangerous if not more dangerous than Progressives when it comes to not supporting the 2nd Amendment, a fact of which some of you fail to recognize.

For those who can't or simply flat out refuse to believe that as long as FUDDS can hunt deer, waterfowl, and break clay pigeons on the weekend they'll continue to either turn a blind eye to or endorse additional non-hunting related gun controls on the rest of us, explain the following statement out of Lewis County regarding their creation of a 2nd Amendment sanctuary County:

Not everyone in the county, however, feels the Second Amendment is under threat or supports the Second Amendment Sanctuary County,

"“I hunt and I can go anywhere to buy any hunting gun I want and the ammunition I want and there’s no problem,” said Daniel Rocker, a member of Indivisible Lowville, “I always wanted an AR-15 [assault rifle]. I was in the military and I loved my M16, but it’s ok. I don’t need it. It’s worth not having one to try and lower the gun violence. I don’t need it to hunt.”

Indivisible Lowville is a progressive organization that hosted two gun forums in 2018.

“The false sense of urgency to ‘rescue guns’ is only driven by paranoia,” said Indivisible co-leader Emily Lyndaker, “More unnecessary gun ‘rights’ should never take precedence over the most vulnerable citizens of our community. ‘All lives’ are supposed to matter right?”

It's ALL about hunting folks. Your 2nd Amendment Rights have been granted to you from upon high to hunt and NOTHING more.

NOW do some of you understand that FUDDS are the reason why we have draconian gun laws in NYS ? Get IT yet ?

FUDDs simply do not understand what 2A is all about. It isn't, and was never about, hunting. Agree that these fellows are not our friends, and in many cases vote against their own interests. They won't get it until their deer rifle becomes a "sniper rifle" and is banned.

Even if you are "JUST" a hunter....your rights are at stake too. I heard something a long time ago that if they can get rid of hunting would be easier to get rid of guns. Hunters have to consider this their fight too.......cuz its about ALL Of us....not just gun owners without hunting Licenses.....

However, it IS still preaching to the choir. As evidenced here and on so many other threads lately we are our own worst enemies and continue to fracture rather than unite under one common cause. We are the gun grabbers wet dream.

I never understood the argument when people say that we shouldn’t be fractured. What is the alternative? For us to embrace the Fudd and tell him that he is A Okay? No. He is hurting our cause contributing to the deterioration of our rights. We can try to correct him and try to show him that what he is doing is bad for all of us and if he refuses to learn or at least consider your point to chew on later, he should be banished and declared an enemy.

Why should we embrace him? It’s worse for us to have him on our side.

I’m a little confused. I don’t think “Chuck” & “John” are actually in disagreement about the main point?

It seems that “John” became bothered by the usage of the term “Fudd”?

I’ve never heard the term “MSR” actually used in person. I have heard some use that term on certain mediums (usually NRA “types”).

Either way the “MSR” term is an unfortunate reaction pattern to a Straw Man argument perpetuated by the “Gun Grabbers” (Reference: “Weapons of War”). John touched on this above. (The origins of how that term “sporting” came into effect is too long to go into now. Read about the history of gun regulations in this country. It does have a certain degree of irony to it, once you become aware of its historical origins)

But I feel “MSR” is just another variant of the same “Fuddery” that the OP was addressing.

Either way, the OP is correct, the Fuddery needs to stop!

I want people to make the connection to civilians being "allowed" to own a military equivalent small arm. Because that is EXACTLY what the 2a intends us to do.

I did not in fact take any exception to the use of the term FUDD. I have used it myself in the past, as have many who post here and on the old forum that you may not have been a member of before this one was created.

Chucky likes to cry in his NRA beer about how we're losing MSRs because of the FUDDs in NY, failing to admit that its NRA corporate assholes just like him who intentionally helped write the "sporting purposes" language that is used both in Federal law to define Arms usable by civilians, and in ATF determinations, including import and export bans of all kinds of weaponry that every American citizen has ever Right to have.

I take no exception to the term FUDD, because its a true turn of phrase.

I take exception to crybaby NYers who once sung the praises of the NRA with their cash donations in support of scumbags who compromise our Rights, but who now want to pin the blame on one of the losing 2A factions (FUDDs) after supporting the other losing faction (Range Rangers and their "sporting rifles").

Personally, I don't care for a second whether someone calls it an MSR or an Assault Rifle. What I DO care about is some FUDD telling me I shouldn't own one because "insert reason here...".
