The New York Governor’s Race: A cautionary tale
Here in New York, yesterday’s election turned out about the way I figured.
As much as I hoped that Republican Marc Molinaro could pull an upset win over Andrew Cuomo, deep down I knew it wasn’t in the cards. Because the deck is stacked against us.
Compared to the 2014 Midterm Election, voter turnout was crazy high here in New York.
In 2014 when Andrew Cuomo was running for his second term, the total number of votes cast statewide was 3,819,086. Whereas the total votes cast for 2018 stands at 5,675,765.
That’s staggeringly high.
But even so, something about the New York Governor’s race election map stuck out.
