As much as I like Gun Owners of America, the Second Amendment Foundation, and others, they don't have the same sway on Capitol Hill as the NRA does.
From the article: "What makes this whole situation even worse, is the fact that the NRA is chartered in New York. That means that New York law applies, and that means that the rabidly anti-NRA and anti-gun NY Attorney General Letitia James, working under the rabidly anti-NRA and anti-gun Governor Andrew Cuomo, will be in charge of the investigation and any “corrective” action."
Wow! I had no idea the NRA was chartered in New York. I'm surprised the Cuomo hasn't gone after them more thoroughly.
In way, maybe all of this is a good thing for the NRA. It's become a bloated organization more concerned with making money for it's top executives than actually advancing gun rights. It needs to have a correction. Having said that, if the NRA "fails" my fear is that all the anti-gunners will be empowered and there will be no stopping them and their agenda. As much as I like Gun Owners of America, the Second Amendment Foundation, and others, they don't have the same sway on Capitol Hill as the NRA does.
You have to wonder with the SCOTUS on the side of the constitution why has been NO hearings on the SAFEACT or any other laws in NYastan being faught?!
Lobby was not what I had in mind, fighting and winning in the courts builds confidence and thus backing, if they do nothing to help they should be aloud to fold....NRA does not "lobby" in NY in the sense people think they do. They never talk to Democrats and no nothing to explain their position on the issues.
You have to wonder if they don't lobby or fight in NY courts because they are afraid of NYS investigating their financials.NRA does not "lobby" in NY in the sense people think they do. They never talk to Democrats and no nothing to explain their position on the issues.

I hope GOA, FPC and/or SAF have planned for this and are ready to fill the lobbying void. If they're ready, let the NRA burn. We'll all be better for it.

No. I believe the problem is two-fold:
- NRA does not keep track of what work, if any, their state reps. actually do. There is no quality control in ILA.
- NRA is a conservative organization which does not want to represent liberals for reasons having nothing to do with 2A. They are essentially blinded by their own ideology.
BuT tHeY tOsSeD mY rAnGe a FeW bOxEs Of FrEe AmMo. WhAt HaVe YoU dOnE!? HmMmMmMm!?The NRA doesnt "lobby" anywhere in the sense NRA apologist pretend they do.
All they do is beg for more money, pay themselves, help get more gun control passed when business is down so they can make more money. And very rarely will they find a small case that looks like a slam dunk, quickly attach their name to it after others have done the leg work and claim victory like they have been in the trenches doing the work

They should be issuing refunds.
What lobbying void? It's been found out that the NRA only spends 3% of the money they bring in on lobbying and legal battles..
So I'm trying to figure out, with them gone, what void will there be,
Maybe the have some political power and maybe it's all smoke and mirrors. Either way, if they fall the grabbers are gonna figure it's open season. I think we'll definitely need a gun rights organization to step up.
Because if the NRA goes under, they'll have no hands to put the blood on.Why has this story not gone viral. I would think the mainstream media would be orgasmic at the possibility of the NRA being sued and potentially run out of business.
