I do understand how amendments are passed and ratified. I also know the possibility of them trying is not fiction. I'm sure people never thought congress would actually pass an amendment to ban alcohol, but they did. It took them a while to do it, but they did. That said, I am not very concerned about a repeal ever happening, at least not the conventional way. It's more a thought exercise.
What do you think we can expect on the federal level?
I find it odd that people are so hung up on the idea of "repeal of the Second Amendment" and only talk about removal of the entry in the Bill of Rights.
The same effect can be had just by passing a law at the Federal Level that is in opposition to that Amendment, and having a kangaroo court rubber stamp it as "a-ok". Boom... effective repeal without the problems of having to get 2/3rds of the States.

If you understand how amendments are made then you will understand the left doesn't give a shit about them and will pass a few, a dozen, hundreds of laws making gun ownership untenable. Hell man look around, its been happening for decades and now they got it all.

I agree, the left will go for broke, but while the federal government may be under dem control, all the states are not. We have a different awareness of the 2A today than we did back in 94. So I am wondering if the dems manage to push through their wish list, what the states will do.
I know the left will try hard, but I think the reaction will be different now than it would have been before.
Maybe not though. Maybe we'll have draconian gun control on the federal level and everyone will just take it. I just don't think it so. I don't think everyone will just accept it this time.

I know that I may be being overly optimistic, but would you agree that awareness of the 2A has increased since the last federal AWB? That the concealed carry map has changed for the better? That the amount of counties and whole states passing 2A sanctuary resolutions or even laws nullifying new federal gun laws in response to previous federal attempts at a new AWB has increased?
I would agree. I do think more gun owners have realized that the 2A is not just about Fudd guns.
Many things have become stronger, but after witnessing what we have in the past couple of months, I am even less optimistic of the American People./
