He understands well ..
Looking at some of these listings online and one cannot believe the prices. Was watching a you tube and a rancher in Wyoming said 1200/acre for range land
25 years ago range land in South Dakota was around 200/acre I believeIs that a lot for that type of land?
I genuinely have no idea if that's cheap or expensive
Smell your neighbors food as they cook it
Now I have followed this fellow for years so I did not get that impression that all land is tillable . There is a lot of land in this country that produces tremendous crop yields . but one would walk away as a SHTF location. One example is where you have an occasional flood ... Like along the Mississippi river . ..Look at the state of western Washington ... Massive floods. Wildfire in the dry season. It's hard not to agree with what he was saying but to give the impression that all land is good land for a basic crop to feed say a family of four, is false. Absolutely false. You can do it at a big expense and make the land more fertile if it isn't already. Now rich city folk moving out to his neck of the woods will likely have the money to spend to make it happen where as the local residence when facing the same starvation scenario may not and that brings on an entirely new situation. Land is always a good investment but you have to have enough of it, irrigation and good soil. That type of land isn't cheap. The more you have the more you have to protect in these SHTF stuff. The only real viable option is to create communities. No man is an island.
Completely accurate. It's hard not to agree with what he was saying but to give the impression that all land is good land for a basic crop to feed say a family of four, is false. Absolutely false.
I am sure on 1000 acre plots that may be a guideline that one can use. I checked my property, its listed all sandy loam. I disagree.
You know what a lot will have to learn to do? Do things that are unpleasant.
I don't mean war or violence. Preppers focus wayyyyyy to much on becoming a wiz bang operator.
No, it's things like trapping and eating mice.
Eating worms and grubs.
Being uncomfortable for long periods of time.
Collaboration with people you don't like.
I spoke of feelings and thoughts in a different thread earlier today.
Feelings and inner thoughts is what will do a lot of people in. The "thought" of eating something like a worm or a rat.
The "feeling' of grossness, eating fresh roadkill.
Sure, training hard with a firearm and tactics is great, I am all for it; but many need to train a bit more on controlling their emotions.
I totally agree. Working a farm is hard, calories burning work 24/7. Throws the whole I can live on X number of calories a day right on my survival food, out the window. lolYou know what a lot will have to learn to do? Do things that are unpleasant.

Unless you're living off the grid and unknown to most now, you will have a tough time and people problems. Desperate people will do desperate things and some would rather burn your stuff to the ground than suffer their fate alone. Kind of like the Vaxxed vs unvaxxed right now. lol
You're not alone. You'd be surprised how many people recoil when I tell them squirrel tastes like dark meat chicken.
Or wild rabbits can taste like juniper.
It's all meat to me.
Actually the smell of butchering a deer in good to me. All the iron in the blood. It smells fresh, clean. It's sadly a smell that I haven't been around in awhile.

I am reading the book when money dies dealing with hyper inflation in Germany 1920's .. At one point farmers did not sell any crops as they were getting hit with at hourly inflation . Perhaps barter but money was worthless. . Folks were starving. I mean dying starving. Groups of people would attack the farms take anything edible .. And kill what they did not take. In the end Folks living off the land had nothing also ... No horses for plowing .. Barns were set on fire .. No seed for next years planting. .... Actual history .. We could see again. We think we have "advanced " as a society ... Greater morals... We embrace the Trans trend with open arms.... we are the enlighten ones. ... Let society go to hell and see what happens... One will be living in the dark ages. Could be going back to the clans like Scotland .. Until a bigger force defeats them all.I totally agree. Working a farm is hard, calories burning work 24/7. When I was young, I developed this sort of "dark passenger". I guess it was a primitive need to hunt? Anyways, I would contain the urges by hunting deer and ended up moving into different game soon after. The sight and smell of blood has always been so satisfying. I became a blood spatter analyst for Miami metro homicide division for years before moving to upstate NY, and the rest is history.
