So there are acceptable levels of crime in your worldview?
Where do you draw the line? Theft? Aggravated theft? Grand theft? Rape? Murder?
At what point do you consider it "ok" for someone to defend themselves and their property from someone who obviously does not care about the Law?


If a criminal doesn't want "the death penalty" they should stop being criminals. what happens is on them, not the person defending themselves.

If you have to ask that question, I suggest you turn your carry permit in for the sake of you and your family. I said it before but a person has more responsibility carrying a handgun than one without. Stealing tires...stealing stuff in a garage...all can be replaced. How does one deal with a multi million lawsuit after the fact even if judged a justifiable shooting. (and how can that happen...ask OJ )

If I am in a retail store and someone is stealing "their stuff" I wouldn't pull my gun out.
Not unless I felt my life was in danger. I'm not the police, my ass isn't covered for this sort of thing like a police officers is.

On my property, that would likely change my thought process and would be more apt to go for my gun. But the thing is, especially in this state if I draw my gun and shoot the scumbag. I better be able to afford a good attorney. I better be able to demonstrate (prove) in court how I felt my life was in immediate danger. Otherwise I would be ruining not only my life, but my wife's life also trying to protect my chainsaw.

I do dove releases for weddings funerals and memorials. I know two people who got sued by people they did a do a release for.

The first one had ( pure white doves) on their website. After the wedding was said & done they were looking at the wedding pictures when they returned home from their honeymoon and ome of the birds had a few dark feathers under heath its tail you could see when if was flying.

The other person hot sued when the wife got scratched by the pigeons toe nail while she was doing the hand release.

Hospital, doctor and contacted by their lawyer. They settled out of court, both of them. If this shit goes to court they can go ape shit on the settlements.

Why would anyone risk anything for someone stealing something that isn't theirs?

Here's what happens when you draw and fire your pistol in a store if you aren't cornered and legitimately have to use it to save your life.

You aren't going home that night. At least not right away. You'll be interviewed and interviewed over and over. Your pistol will get confiscated. They'll give it back to you eventually when all turns up well but you aren't going home with it when they release you.

You open yourself up to lawsuits if someone gets hurt. You can even be sued by the store or the person you shot yourself. It's happened before.

Don't be Superman. You aren't a cop. Only draw if your life is in danger. If you have a way to exit the store when it's happening. Do so. Get the fuck out of there and make it to your family. That's your mission in life and why you carry. To get home to your family. Not to be cop.

For me, I'll even go further to say that I won't even help someone in eminent danger that's not related to me in another situation. Why? Because helping them prevents me from getting home to my family. They chose to be defenseless. Not me. Even my 82 year old dad carries so as not to be defenseless. If for some reason things turn out bad and I find myself in a cell for trying to help, is the person or person's family going to pay my mortgage and take care of my family? Fuck no.
