Someone should publish a book titled "How to know when it's time to shoot the bastards"
It should lay out a very clear line in the sand, but one we aren't likely to cross in the next 5 to 10 years.
It should cover all manner of creeping totalitarianism, not just 2A violations.
I realize that most *good* criteria for that decision have long since passed, but for this to work it *has* to have time to soak in before it's triggered.
I'm probably not the right guy to write it, but it could provide quite the deterrent if it went viral.

Innocent Blood is the line in the sand. When otherwise innocent people are being killed for the sake of some nutjobs power lust , people will put their foot down. Even slaves revolt , If you mistreat an animal they're eventually going to bite you. Referring to Ruby Ridge and Waco I‘m assuming? I don’t condone his actions, but McVeigh (an ardent 2A supporter) definitely “responded” when they crossed that line.
He would have been labeled a domestic terrorist no matter what, but he isn’t seen as a pro 2A, anti tyrant freedom fighter because he blew up a building with a daycare and simply put no one is going to be OK with the death of children. Even then, while the building housed secret service and ATF offices, there was also social security offices etc. that had nothing to do with Waco and RR.
I don’t think there was ever going to be a ”good optics” outcome but he should have gone after the organizations directly responsible for Waco and RR, not some random federal building, if he wanted to be seen as a revolutionary martyr rather than a fucking nut.
And I think that will always be the problem. Violence is messy and hard to control. And law abiding gun owners are some of the most restrained, nonviolent people out there. When people talk about the ”boogaloo” I don’t think they realize it’s not going to be the “good guys” defending the 2A from the easily identifiable “bad guys”. There will be collateral damage, and there will be dire consequences. People simply aren’t willing to kill or die over 30 round magazines or pistol grips.
The anti gun crowd is playing the long game because confiscation isn’t viable in a country with 400 million guns. They’ll make everything illegal, everyone will hide their now illegal stuff, and when they die the culture dies with them because the new generation will see guns as history. It’s lingchi, death by a thousand cuts. Enough to disarm us over time, but never enough to push people over to violence. I don’t know if there is a way out of this.

Those were different times , pre internet./ live stream twitter. People had one source of news which most trusted . Nobody back in 1990 would even Assume the FBI was corrupt , you would look like a nut job , ask me how I know. The government and news sources had credibility back then, They squandered that credibility Not many people take them at face value anymore. The anger Americans are feeling is no where near the levels of today.
People getting killed in thier homes for gun violations isnt going to help things , Spilling blood is going to be the last straw , People will be forced to respond or wait for thier turn. people wont fight unless their back is to the wall. that's putting their back to the wall
