The Similarities between Lincoln and Trump and the Civil War.

Lincoln was elected and the Democrats boycotted his inauguration.
After taking office in January, Fort Sumter was fired upon in April of the same year by Confederates.

Now as April Approaches four months after Trump was sworn in, Maryland (a slave State that remained in the Union and a state in which Lincolns Emancipation Proclamation did not apply) is threatening to become a "Sanctuary State". A giant FU to the rest of us.

There are many other similarities too. With Lincoln the issue was slavery.
With Trump the issue is illegal aliens and no mo borders.

I am sure there are other similarities between the abolitionists and todays Trump supporters. Amazing how the more things change the more they stay the same.

We, here in NY, will be behind enemy lines when the SHTF.

I love history.

Unfortunately they don't teach history much more these days, it's been pushed aside to make room for gender studies, feminist equality, snowflakeism etc...

There an old saying, I'm drunk so I'll probably mess it up, "everything has already been done before" or something like that. Basically there is nothing new with human nature it just repeats itself in cycles. If you can't understand the past you will repeat it.

This country is so fractured were screwed.

Its going down either on trumps watch or into the first term of the next socialist who wins in 2020.

This country's curent path and trajectory is not sustainable, we've totally lost our cultural identity and unifying beliefs. It can't continue like this sooner or later one side will have to become dominant and over power their opposing side. Its just the nature of conflict and upheaval.
