All of this got me thinking.
What if our electronic communication system is disrupted.
I do everything by Credit Card. Banks do everything electronically.
I think a trip to the bank or even several for cash on hand in the next few days is in order.
Hell, there is a gun show on Sept 11th if nothing happens.

Scientists have determined it is "potentially" a Carrington level release and they've calculated the earth will rotate so that north America takes the brunt of the energy in 24 hours. Scientists are already tossing out words like "risk to the power grid"

What do you do? How do you protect as much as you can and what decisions would you make.

Be thankful that you had the forsight to be prepared ahead of time, and aren't stuck in lines miles long for gas stations that are already empty ?

Disconnect and power down all your electronics and prepare to ride the storm out ?

Maybe attempt to shield some of the more fragile stuff, but most likely anything not connected to miles of power lines (or phone cables, etc...) will be fine.

Download any last minute updates from the internet though, could be some chaos there, might be your last opportunity for a while....

Good ideas. Perhaps hit the main breaker on your circuit box. But! What if the Government decided that notifying the population of an incoming CME would be a bad idea. After all, they live for the crisis and they get to gain even more control.

Pointing out that the sun is waking up after an 11 year solar minimum. The sunspots and solar storms and CME's have increased in the past few weeks and it is only the beginning of the new cycle. The region that faces the earth is particularly busy in the past few days. I was just thinking. if you were an elite uber educated Democrat/marxist and you wanted to get rid of that pesky constitution would you warn the population of an impending situation or let the chaos begin.
