Many, many times in the past the USA has added, and modified states. This is the time to revisit that.

The entire concept of the Electoral College is sound. Our country contains people of vastly difference cultures, employment, religions, and life experiences.
The Popular Vote ignores minorities of race, religion, and culture. Yet in its current state, the Electoral College is not much better.
Far too many states have vastly divergent populations, and the minority opinions have no representation.
Look at the map.
Sure, give DC and PR statehood.
But also break up every state so that the Electoral Votes are roughly equal - or with two multiples of each other.
New York, California, Oregon, Washington, Nevada, Maine, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Virginia, and so many more - have obvious problems.
More states, each with less power, would create a far less contentious country.
With far better outcomes.
