THE WAIT!!!

So I started my pistol permit process back on 9/8/16. Had my meeting with the investigator on the 9th of last month and was told there was no issue and that I should be getting my letter within a month to go pick it up. I am nearing that time and of course drooling all over show cases. Plus side is when I was talking to my local shop, they had also heard that the new judge was not putting the restrictions on that the former had done for so many years. So the wait of getting the permit, getting the pistol and seeing if there will not be any restrictions is driving me nuts. It could also be that I need some range therapy as well.

I'm down in Westchester and we know all too well about waiting. (Right Phazer?....). My last pistol took 50 days just to add it on my permit. This after having my spotless permit since the early 80's, my 5 year recert and another safe inspection... I feel you, bro.. Hang in there. Sounds like you guys finally have a good judge.. Which is huge...

I already have 2 picked out. I just hope I can add 2 on at once. Definitely nice to know that this judge is more gun friendly.

So my question I just thought of was do they call you or send a letter when it is ready for pickup?

Not sure about your county. I believe I received mine in the mail

Ok that is what I thought. I think the mail lady believes I am waiting for a check since I run to check the mail box as soon as she pulls up on my days off.

I am hoping it is soon. They told me a month so I am holding the investigator to it lol.

I called the county clerk once a week for updates. They can usually tell you where it is at in the process. I believe once the investigator is done it has to be signed by the sheriff and then to the judge. Mine was held up with the sheriff for like a month

Yeah he was sending mine the next day to Ray Brook to be signed off then off to the judge. Guess if I don't see by tomorrow I will call the clerks office.

A little update. Called this morning to the clerks office and they confirmed that is off to the judge for his signing. May be this week or next week to have in hand. I have a xds in 9mm on order as well as an m&p 40c. Those should be here next week I am guessing.
