Lack of anything else to do after dark probably has something to do with that....The double edged sword that tends to be overlooked is TIME: Now since presumably nobody is working a regular job you now have more time to dedicate to making provisions and improvements, the other side is now you don't have time to do a lot of the cool, life improving things you want to do, especially if there are Considerable Security Concerns or you're a one man Band.....Ever wonder why Farmers, Amish, Mennonite, and others have huge Families? Really, there a a few around here with ten or more Children, and many of them are married and having Babies long before their youngest sibling reach puberty.
