They are out numbered and they are out of shells. they burn up around 5000 rounds a day. I believe what your insinuating is that it may be just a ruse to obtain more ammo and equipment. If they were winning the war, I could /would say thats possible. But the whole front in the east is nearly ready to collapse. Thats based on the situation reports of the Ukrainians and Russians. The Ukrainian soldiers themselves are also complaining about the lack of supplies . They are also low in aircraft and armor .

And Im telling you now, they are on a verge of catastrophe in the Donbass. If the Russians secure a way over the Donetsk and take the Donbass, its going to be real bad for Ukraine. Severdonesk is the last city in the Donbass. they are about to lose it. the Ukrainians in the city are cut off from supply's and reinforcements, this is a replete of Mariupol. Only they wont last as long. 2 weeks ago they were begging Kiev to pull back to Lushenk while they still could. Now they cant. they are trapped there and thier fate is sealed.

The Ukrainians are correct in saying the only way to stop the Russian advance is to interdict their supply routes in Russia . the only way they can do it on a large scale is with long range artillery which the US wont give them . So the situation is this: The Russians have and can interdict and stop supplies of the Ukrainian army ,the Ukrainian army cannot do the same to the Russians because they dont have the means to do it. Meanwhile the Russian 20-1 advantage in artillery is pounding everything in reach and the Ukrainians cannot stop it. The72 M777's are scattered on a front of over 1 thousand miles from North to south, with major citys like kiev and Karkov Dnipro taking thier cut , and some have already been destroyed.

Im telling you, Ukraine is in a bad situation right now. There is no more maneuver warfare for Ukraine, because they have lost the ability. What they are doing is simply digging in and fighting. That's all they have left. and they are low on supply's. The writing is on the wall, if you cant read it , I can only tell you.

Ukrainian government will say anything to milk the West for money and arms, but that doesn't mean they ALWAYS have to lie. They are losing the war, while being totally mobilized. Russia is not even calling it a war, it's a military operation with only partial use of Russian Federation forces.
Donbas was heavily fortified by Ukrainian military during 8 years of conflict. This is why the progress there is slow. Russia needs time to secure and clean up the territory it is recapturing, so slow progress does have a benefit.

Its not that clear cut . #1 The Russians fucked up massively in the first part of the war #2 they are going against heavily dug in troops in the donbass. Its a modern day Maginot line. concrete bunkers tunnels trenches supported by interlocking machine gun nests , mortars , heavy artillery , land mines , antitank missiles not one line, but multiple lines and good use of the terrain .its a real nightmare. then theres the Donesk river which cannot be crossed until all Ukrainian artillery has been neutralized in the crossing area. thats one of the reasons they are short of artillery , Its a priority target that has to be neutralized in order to cross the river in that area.

Granted they dont have the missile capacity of the US, and they are useing them on strategic targets, such as bridges , the ports in Odessa warehouses of ammo, head quarters rail road junctions , and they used them to good use. again they have to be a little more conservative than the US ,they are not going to waste them on bunkers . they want to get the most bang for the buck obviously.

I disagree with you, Mostly because by the time this is over Most of , or a good part of the fighting men will have been lost in the conflict . Or they may just have had enough fighting. Well, this isnt over yet. Russia controlling the Ukraine in spite of NATO , Russia controlling the wheat fields , Russia controling the gas lines in Ukraine , Russian troops on the border of Poland .
