My friend, @Vapor , I hope that you are not putting me into this crowd. I am looking for the truth(s). All of them. I am not in the corner of either side. As long as US troops are not put in harms way, I do not care at all what happens over there. Prices will go up, I will deal with that, but, I am 100% neutral in all of this.

Biden and the dems for killing the economy, record high inflation, etc... I think their big support behind Ukraine is in part to try and "unify" the American public because mid terms are right around the corner.
Whether Putin is as bad as they say or not they DEFINITELY want to paint him as the big red boogieman, and they want the right to actually support him to use that against us come election time. Just because we can understand his viewpoint doesnt mean we support him.

I think we all know our own govt is corrupt and broken.

At the end of WWII, Red Army was the strongest military in the world. It's a fact. If someone doesn't like it, then tough shit.
Some of their military was very strong, other parts, not so much. They had around 12 million Soldiers, they were lacking in many areas. There fleet of naval ships was weak as well as their strategic aircraft.
If Operation Unthinkable would have been put into action, The USSR would have caved, it may have taken a decent amount of time, But I believe the Operation would have been a success. This, though, is one of those things that none of us will ever know the truth. All we can do is assume.

Now I am thinking the lab story is bullshit from some who had worked at two of the targeted labs (not from a news story ... from their own mouths), saying their work was an agricultural focus and they knew of bird flu and swine flu work by others. They said it was managed by Ukrainians with mostly Ukrainian staff with some Russian staff. They believed some funding was from the West (e.g.USA and others) as well as Russia. I looked at some spending recaps showing DoD monies in lieu weapons going to schools, some labs, hospitals, etc. This info was also on the US Embassy in Ukraine's website long before this crisis.
The neo nazi spin in Eastern Ukraine is ironic with Putin's history of neo nazi Wagner Group mercenaries and barbarian zealots from Chechnya.
We are being spun by propaganda self serving to the Russans, the Ukranians, and multiple 3rd parties who all have skin in the game.
