The Newburg P.D. should know by now that you don't find shooting victims at the ShotSpotter location, they'll already be at St Lukes.

Just FYI, Hospitals and medical facilities are required by law to notify the PD in cases where people arrive with GSW or stab wounds consistent with an assault.

And 13 rounds? Sounds like one of those weapon of mass destruction ghost gun high capacity clips!

Friend of mine almost got us all in trouble because he went to urgent care for a piece of shrapnel in his back. They called the po-po.

"High capacity" magazines were outlawed by the unSAFE act. I'm sure it was probably 6+1 and then he reloaded with another 6

Know that, but also know reporting does not happen or can be untimely at St Luke's as gang members are known to come in to protect or finish the job. On the other hand, I've been reassured that most gangs watch out for the St Lukes staff (apparently for future self preservation).

When I worked EMS in Newburgh, I brought in a girl that had been stabbed at one of the finer establishments in the 'hood. Called on the radio 3 times - no one answered. We pulled up to the ER entrance and all the nurses were hanging out outside. I got out about the same time as a couple of taxis pulled up.

I said "We have a stabbing and they might be here for her". Within seconds, that place was on lockdown and I think every cop in the area was there

Not uncommon. If you did EMS in Newburgh for a length of time, you likely met some of my family (and friends) who would have worked on your most damaged deliveries.

Exactly, and who is to say they dont already. It seems like its not the best and most reliant system, to say the least.

Supposedly, the technology that it uses can differentiate between actual gunshots and other sounds like fireworks, backfires, etc. Different sound signatures. Some of the more sophisticated systems can even narrow it down to caliber

I am quite confident that the correct firework would be indistinguishable from a subsonic pistol round.

And if their system required the sonic boom from a supersonic round to trigger, then it would miss any very close range shots (like, say most criminal shootings...)
